Fredyn Price brings over a decade of educational experience to her role as the Founder and CEO of The Fredyn Academy. Her journey as an educator includes teaching English as a Second Language at Broward College's RENEW Program for refugees, alongside being a certified English and ESL Teacher in New York City. Fredyn also holds a Juris Doctor from Regent University, bringing a diverse background and a profound understanding of educational law and policy to the forefront of her educational mission.
The genesis of The Fredyn Academy is deeply personal for Fredyn, inspired by her desire to provide an optimal learning environment for her own son, who displayed signs of giftedness at an early age. Faced with the limitations of traditional schooling, which neither challenged nor engaged her son sufficiently, Fredyn took a bold step to homeschool her son, focusing on nurturing his natural curiosities and talents in science, math, and the arts. This experience highlighted the need for a specialized educational framework that could better serve gifted students who thrive under innovative and flexible learning conditions.
Determined to transform these insights into a broader educational model, Fredyn established The Fredyn Academy to cater to like-minded gifted students. The school is built on a foundation of STEAM education, encouraging students to engage in hands-on, project-based learning from environmental projects to technological experimentation. Fredyn's leadership at the academy is driven by her vision that education should be a collaborative, engaging, and joyous journey. She advocates for a learning environment where students co-author their educational paths, exploring subjects that ignite their passions and leveraging their intellectual capacities to their fullest potential.
